What is Insights Reporting?

This new feature enables deeper analysis of security across your supply chain, rather than on an individual supplier basis. Highlights include:

  • Analyse Supplier Data: Quickly filter through supplier data to find key insights, like PII handling or data transfer practices.

  • Enhance Team Collaboration: by sharing data with Data Protection, Procurement, and Sustainability teams. Provide these colleagues with data so they can perform an in-depth analysis such as identifying critical suppliers missing ISO 27001 certification or those that lack modern slavery policies.

Getting Started

To access the Insights section, simply go over to the navigation bar on the left hand side of the screen, and navigate to the section titled ‘Reporting’:

You will then be presented with this screen, select 'Insights':

How to Use ‘Insights Reporting’

Once you have accessed the page, you’re ready to start building queries using the ‘Filter’ function.

Firstly, you can add a name for your question and select whether you would like insights on Suppliers or Controls, by selecting the relevant button under ‘Select Your Data Source’. For this example, I’ve selected ‘Suppliers’:

From there, you will need to start adding filters to the results to build out the query and gain the information you are looking for. To start, click the ‘Add Filter’ button which will open a drop down with a number of options:

From this drop-down, select the initial criteria for your query. For example, ‘Criticality’. This will open up a further selection:

From here, select which criteria you wish to filter by. This will bring up an initial results list, as indicated below.

From here, you have the option to add additional filters to your query, narrowing down and cross-referencing the data.

Exporting your Results

If you wish to export the information you have gained through the Insights feature, simply press the ‘Export’ button above the query result:

Once this button is clicked, it will download a .csv copy of the results. These can be used for internal reporting or tailored.

Clearing your Filters

When you have applied multiple filters and exported the results, you may wish to start from the beginning and create a fresh query.

To remove the filters, simply click the small ‘x’ in the corner of these filters, highlighted below:

Closing these will update the list in real time as the filters are removed.

Additional Behaviour

And/Or Functionality

Whilst applying multiple filters, you can select whether the filters should be used on an and/or basis when pulling the data. This is done simply by clicking on the blue ‘and’ between the filters:

This will bring up the option to switch between ‘and’ or ‘or. You can select as appropriate:

Include Relevant Columns

You can choose which columns are presented in the data table, by clicking the ‘Columns’ button, located next to the ‘Export’ button:

This will open up a drop down menu allowing you to choose which columns you would like to include in the dataset, select as appropriate:
