This article explains:

  • The Risks dashboard

  • The different types of Risks: Control Question Level, Supplier Level & Concentration Risks

  • How to open a Risk

Risks Dashboard

You’re able to view, open and manage supply chain risks for all of your connected suppliers within the Risks dashboard. Click Risks from the left hand side navigation menu. The dashboard displays the Risk ID number, Risk name, Supplier name and other useful data like the Risk Score and Risk Owner. The data on this table can be filtered and exported to csv.

How to open a risk

There are 4 ways you can open a risk:

  • Open a Risk at the control question level for a supplier

  • Open a Risk at the supplier level

  • Open a Risk from the Risks dashboard (optionally assign to the supplier level)

  • Open a concentration Risk from your Network Visualisation

Control Question Level Risks

Recording Risks at the control question level provides you with detailed view of the specific security controls a supplier is lacking and helps you to make more informed decisions about how these risks contributes to the overall risk the supplier poses to your organisation.

When reviewing a suppliers assessment, you’re able to open a Risk on the go meaning you can quickly and easily open a Risk whilst reviewing the assessment answers. By opening the Risk as you are reviewing the suppliers answers, you identify risks quickly about specific controls that can be reviewed at a holistic level later on.

To open at the control question level:

  1. Navigate to the assessment page of the connected supplier

  2. Click the row of the control to expand and view more detail

  3. Click Open Risk

  4. Fill in the Name and optionally the Description, Likelihood and Impact fields. The Likelihood and Impact fields generate a Risk Score

  5. Click the green Open button to open the risk

  6. You can view the Risk within the Risks tab of the connected supplier or by navigating to the Risks dashboard

Supplier Level Risks

Recording Risks at the supplier level provides you with a high level view and assists you in identifying the suppliers that pose a higher overall risk. Opening a Risk at a supplier level can be used in addition or instead of control question level Risks.

To open at the supplier level:

  1. Navigate to the connected supplier

  2. Click Actions

  3. Click Open Risk

  4. Fill in the Name and optionally the Description, Likelihood and Impact fields. The Likelihood and Impact fields generate a Risk Score

  5. Click the green Open button to open the Risk

  6. You can view the Risk within the Risks tab of the connected supplier or within the Risks dashboard

Supplier Level Risks - Risk Dashboard

When tracking risks at the supplier level, Risks can be opened from the connected supplier or from the Risks dashboard. Regardless of where the risk is opened, the following steps remain largely the same.

To open at the supplier level (from the Risks dashboard):

  1. Navigate to the Risks dashboard

  2. Click Open Risk

  3. Select the supplier from the Supplier Name drop down list (this is searchable)

  4. The other steps remain the same

Concentration Risks

Concentration Risks are opened from the Network Visualisation page and can be opened about any supplier in your Risk Ledger supply chain, whether they are 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th party suppliers.

When opening a Risk, you'll need to give it at least a name. All other fields are optional. Once the Risk has been opened, you can continue with your current workflow or view the Risk to add further information.
