What is Network Visualisation?
The Network Visualisation displays the names of organisations within your supply chain in Risk Ledger's network, including 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th parties and how they are connected together to give you unparalleled insights into the breadth and depth of your supply chain.
How can this feature benefit my organisation?
Here is an example of how using the Network Visualisation feature can help you identify risks within your supply chain:
You have 3 suppliers which on their own won't have a direct impact on your organisation if they fail individually. From a standard view you may not realise the potential risk that could be hidden within the 4th, 5th & 6th parties. In this scenario, these 3 suppliers could all have 1 supplier in common (4th party risk) this would mean if the 4th party were to fail, all 3 of your suppliers could be impacted and therefore leave your organisation at risk.
By using the Network Visualisation you have the ability to see who your suppliers are connected to further up the supply chain and whether there is a previously unknown risk within the 4th, 5th or 6th parties.
How can I use this feature?
Access the Network Visualisation from the left hand side navigation bar and clicking Network > Visualisation.
When viewing the graph you will see your organisation displayed in the centre of the graph as the largest node. 3rd party connections are visualised as nodes and are linked to your organisations with a grey line with an arrow that denotes the direction of the relationship. The arrow points away from the supplier, to the client in the relationship.
Where your 3rd party supplier is also using Risk Ledger for their own supply chain management, you will be able to see their 4th parties connected. This model continues to give you the ability to view your 5th and 6th parties.
Further connection lines are displayed where organisations are interconnected.
Hover over an organisation within the graph where the origin of the supply chain will be highlighted. The outline colour of a node displays an indicator of the compliance score.
Spot Potential Concentration Risks:
Concentration risk is when there is an over reliance on certain organisations within the supply chain - it’s a problem that organisations often don’t get visibility over.
We surface visibility of potential risks within your supply chain in the graph. Larger nodes that pulse in real time are potential concentration risks.
Turn the visibility of concentration risks on or off by using the eye icon in the Key.
You can open your own concentration risk on a node by clicking on the organisations node within the graph and clicking Open Risk which will be displayed below the key. For more information on tracking and managing risks within Risk Ledger click here.
Filtering:
As the visibility of your supply chain increases, it’s important to be able to to cut through the noise and focus in on the things that matter.
Click the green Filter button in the top right hand corner of the graph where you have the option to apply filters for the Criticality, Confidentiality, PII tags and your custom labels.
Exporting the data:
You can export to a PNG format by clicking on the download (white arrow) button which is located at the top left-hand side graph.
Can I disable this feature?
We believe it is important for every organisation benefiting from the Risk Ledger network to equally contribute to the network through sharing of their own supply chain.
If you do not wish to share the names of your suppliers with your clients, you can disable the network visualisation from the left hand side navigation bar by clicking Settings > Visualisation and ensuring the toggle is turned off (grey).
By disabling this feature, the name of your suppliers will remain private and you will not have access to the network visualisation feature.
