What is Reviewer Assignment?

Reviewer Assignment allows you to assign yourself or colleagues to specific controls or domains within an assessment.

This helps teams coordinate reviews by making it clear who is responsible for each control, and allows users to track progress by marking controls as reviewed.

Reviewer Assignment follows three key steps: assign, notify and track progress.

Assigning users

You can assign users in multiple places within an assessment and there is no limit to how many users can be assigned to a control.

From the main assessment view [1] select one or more controls in either a domain or the whole assessment [2], and then click Actions [3] > Assign Users [4]:

You can also assign users within an individual control by clicking into the control [1] then clicking Manage reviewers [2] in the control drawer:

When a user is assigned to any control a small circle icon with their initial(s) are added underneath the control:

Permissions

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions can assign or edit reviewers

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions can be assigned to controls

  • Only users with the appropriate permissions can mark controls as reviewed

All assignments are captured in the Activity Log.

What notifications do assigned users receive?

When a user is assigned to a control, they are also assigned to the supplier.

They are notified via:

  • Email

  • Action Centre, where they can view all assigned reviews across suppliers

  • A banner on the supplier assessment

Tracking progress

Users can mark controls as reviewed at any time, regardless of whether they are assigned to it or not:

When clearing reviews:

  • If users were assigned to the control, they remain assigned but the control is no longer marked as reviewed.

  • If they were not assigned, they are removed from the control (because if they were unassigned and reviewed a control, they would be marked as having been the reviewer).
