What is the Network Visualisation?
The Network Visualisation shows organisations across your supply chain, including third, fourth, fifth and sixth parties. It maps how these organisations connect, helping you explore dependencies and potential concentration risks beyond your direct suppliers.
How can this feature benefit my organisation?
Here is an example of how using the Network Visualisation feature can help you identify risks within your supply chain:
You have 3 suppliers which on their own won't have a direct impact on your organisation if they fail individually. From a standard view you may not realise the potential risk that could be hidden within the 4th, 5th & 6th parties. In this scenario, these 3 suppliers could all have 1 supplier in common (4th party risk) this would mean if the 4th party were to fail, all 3 of your suppliers could be impacted and therefore leave your organisation at risk.
By using the Network Visualisation you have the ability to see who your suppliers are connected to further up the supply chain and whether there is a previously unknown risk within the 4th, 5th or 6th parties.
How to use the Network Visualisation
From the left-hand navigation, select Network → Your Supply Chain.
Your organisation appears as the largest node in the centre of the map. Direct suppliers are connected to it by lines with arrows showing the direction of each relationship. The arrow points away from the supplier and towards the client.
If your suppliers also use Risk Ledger to manage their supply chains, you may see their suppliers and further connections. These form the fourth, fifth and sixth parties in your network.
In community views, each community member’s logo is displayed on their node, making organisations easier to identify.
Adjust the map’s performance settings
Use the Performance settings to control how much of your network is displayed and how the map behaves:
Network map density
Network map density controls how many levels of your extended supply chain are displayed. It defaults to fifth parties.
Increase the density to show more distant connections or reduce it to display a smaller network.
Show Risk Ledger suppliers
Turn Show Risk Ledger suppliers off to remove Risk Ledger’s own supplier network from the map. Turn it on to include these organisations again.
Animations
Turn animations off if you are viewing a large or dense network and want to reduce the map’s use of browser resources. Turning animations off does not remove organisations or relationships from the map.
Explore an organisation and its connections
Select an organisation’s node to focus on it and trace how it connects back to your organisation:
When you select a node, you'll see:
Selected node pulses: The selected node pulses so it stands out from the surrounding network and is easier to identify.
Darker background: The surrounding network becomes darker, bringing the selected organisation and its route into focus.
Line opacity by distance: Connection lines leading back to your organisation vary in opacity. More direct routes appear stronger, while routes with more organisations between you and the selected organisation appear more faded.
Grey supplier links: The selected organisation’s suppliers remain visible, with their connecting lines shown in grey.
You can also hover over an organisation to highlight the origin of its supply chain. A node’s outline colour indicates the organisation’s compliance score.
Identify potential concentration risks
Concentration risks can occur when multiple organisations in your supply chain depend on the same supplier.
Risk Ledger highlights potential concentration risks on the map. Larger nodes that pulse in the standard map view represent potential concentration risks.
Use the eye icon in the key to show or hide these indicators [1].
To open a concentration risk:
Select the relevant organisation’s node.
Select Open Risk below the key.

Filtering the network
Select the green Filter button in the top-right corner of the map to focus on specific organisations.
You can filter using:
Criticality tags
Confidentiality tags
PII tags
Labels
Network depth
Using the Toolbar
The toolbar lets offers some utility options when using the Network Visualisation:
The ability to zoom into the map
The ability to zoom out of the map
Zoom to fit the network visualisation
Enter fullscreen mode
Export the current visualisation as a PNG image.
Disable Network Visualisation
To stop sharing the names of your suppliers with your clients:
Select Settings [1] → Network & Community [2].
Turn off the Network Visualisation toggle [3]
You can also choose to hide specific suppliers [4]
